Week 5 Questions

1) What inspired Kohei Horikoshi to write My Hero Academia was a very popular known anime called Naruto. Of course everyone has heard about it or at least knows a little about it, it is one of the classics just like One Piece and Dragon ball Z. Horikoshi fell into a depression for a couple years and thought about quitting manga, but 2014 came around and My Hero Academia earned him his first success. He was also inspired by Spider-man because he was a teenage hero, just like all the UA kids.

2) He did have to do research to be inspired enough to come up with something. Like I said in my first response, he was inspired by different animes as well as American comics/heroes. He had to look into his favorite mangas/animes to see what captivated his attention, so he could also incorporate it into his story. He put time and thought into writing this manga and since it's still on-going, he is pouring his heart into it.

3) As of now I don't think I have any questions about the time period or context of the story. Right now everything is pretty clear because it's starting a whole "new story" since the provisional exams are over.

Week 4 question

1) If I were to create an award for my book, it would be the best character developments award. The reason to why I would make this an award is because since the beginning of the story, the characters have grown and matured in ways that makes the readers proud. For example, Bakugo has had one of the biggest character developments in the story so far. He use to bully Midoriya and could not accept the fact that he became strong, thanks to his mentor, All Might. So far in the story, Bakugo has realized that Midoriya got his quirk from All Might, and now he begins to question Midoriya because he wants to know how he got ahead of the game. Up to the chapter I'm at, Bakugo decides to challenge Midoriya to a fight, even tho Midoriya did not want to fight him. Later he realized the burden Bakugo was carrying within himself and so he decided to fight him because he's the only one who can help him and understand him. This shows major character development because Bakugo isn't known for being emotional at all. Just like Bakugo, other characters such as, Todoroki, Aoyama, Iida, etc, have all branched out and found the fire to spark their passion for becoming a hero.

Week 3 Questions

1) This manga has made me cheer for all the current heroes that want to become pro heroes. During the provisional license exams, everyone showed some type of character development and their motivation to become a pro hero became even stronger. I get a lot of excitement from just reading because you never know what's going to happen since there is so much rivalry going on between the kid heroes.

2)  The way this book is connected to my life is because it is a story about a kid who had no quirk (that's what the superpower they are born with is called), yet he met someone who turned his life around and is now telling us how he became the greatest hero ever. The one thing I relate the most with in this manga is the feeling of loneliness, as well as later on finally finding your purpose.

3) So far the manga seems pretty believable, but the one thing that startled me was that Bakugo acknowledged how strong Midoriya has become. This was really surprising because usually Bakugo would get mad at anything Midoriya did cause he felt as if he was looking down on him. This comes to show that Bakugo as a character is maturing and developing, which will make the story very interesting.
